Lincoln boys Soccer battled in a closely contested match with Evansville Central Thursday night but fell just short in a 1-0 loss. Evansville Central scored a controversial first half goal but the goal stood nonetheless. The Alices battled hard the remainder of the evening and even had some promising chances but could not convert. Levi Klingler ended the night with 3 shots attempts, David Ramirez put 2 shot attempts up, and Ian Lancaster and Lucas Klingler each had 1 attempt each. Paxton Smith had some incredible saves this evening, ending the night with 6 saves added to his season tally. Grant Richardville was one of five players who played a full 80 minutes and earned the Man of the Match honors. Grant, usually our left back, stepped into a center back role tonight and played well. He won possessions in the air, transitioned the ball forward, and showed determination and grit. The boys are off from matches until a home match against Jasper on Tuesday, September 9.
