Boys Soccer falls short after slow first half

By Noble Boger | Sep 2, 2025 10:30 PM

Lincoln boys Soccer fell short tonight in a 3-1 loss to Evansville Harrison. The game was truly defined by the 2 halves, with all of Harrison’s goals coming in the first, and the Alices scoring in the second half, in the 67th minute, and not allowing any competitive scoring chances for Harrison in the second half. The boys came out slow in the first half and battled with a hunger in the second half. That can be seen in Lukas Lang‘s goal in the 67th minute, as he closed out a loose ball in the box off of a Lincoln corner kick. David Ramirez also registered two shots on goal. Calvin and Doggett also got a shot attempt tonight. Paxton Smith closed the night with 7 saves, only 2 coming in the second half. Players in tonight’s game that should be given specific mention are Claudson Thomas who gave us great bursts of energy from the striker position. Calvin Doggett as well stepped into a striker role in the second and played with a hunger to win the ball and make progress up the field. Tonight’s Man of the Match award however goes to sophomore, Jude Clark. Jude stepped up for us tonight and played in three different positions, defensive midfielder, right back, and left back. Jude is strong defensively and hounded Harrison’s quick players tonight and helped to shut down many transitions. The boys look to recover from some nagging injuries tomorrow and carry a strong second half on as we face Evansville Central at home on Thursday night.
