The boys of Alice Soccer headed south tonight to play against Evansville Memorial high school. The game closed with an 8-0 loss for the Alices. The boys played hard against a very talented Memorial Tiger’s side, ranked 16th nationally. Five different players were able to give their all for a full 80 minutes. Those 5 being David Ramirez, Carson Heiden, Cannon McCallister, Grant Richardville, and Lucas Klingler. Starting goalkeeper, senior, Paxton Smith had a number of saves but had to leave the game with injury on two separate occasions. Sophmore goalkeeper, Landon Telligman, was able to step in and close out the final portion of the game. The boys went into half with a 5–0 deficit. Memorial was able to add 3 more to their tally before the end of the game but the boys made them work to get clean looks on goal. A disappointing defeat to the most talented team the boys will face this season. The Alices now look to a stretch of home games starting next Tuesday, September 2, with a home match against Harrison, and another home game against Evansville Central on Thursday, September 4, and close the home stand on Tuesday, September 9, against Jasper.
