Boy Soccer closed out another three game week win a win against South Knox with a final score of 3-1. The boys came into the weekend on a five game win streak, but with some injuries picked up in the prior two games of the week. Having faced our most difficult local matchup against Rivet on Monday, the Alices then made the road trip to Richland County to battle it out and win a thriller against the Richland County Tigers on Thursday, the boys were ready to close out the week with a sixth consecutive win, and eleventh on the season. The Alices battled it out through the first half but opened the scoring in the 47th minute off of a Gera Silva goal, assisted by David Ramirez. The boys continued to build and create chances. Sophomore, Levi Klingler would find the Alices second goal of the night, and the first of his high school varsity career, in the 65th minute off of an incredible assist by Ian Lancaster. Our third goal of the night would come just four minutes later, as senior, Claudson Thomas, found the back of the net in the 69th minute, off of an assist by freshman, Cayden Trueblood. The Spartans would draw back in the waning minutes of the game, but Lincoln's defense stood strong throughout the game, as they have all season. The Alices registered 18 shots on the nights. Claudson Thomas lead the way with six shots, Gera Silva and David Ramirez each registered 4 shots each. John Martin Beam, Jude Clark, Calvin Doggett, Levi Klingler, and Cayden Trueblood each registered a shot on the night. Goalkeeper, Landon Telligman, registered nine saves in the match. Ian Lancaster earned Man of the Match honors with his tenacious play in the midfield. Ian created an incredible opportunity that lead to our second goal. Beyond that, he continued to match the pace and physicality of the competitive moment between two county schools. Lincoln Boys Soccer now looks towards September 24 and a home matchup with Evansville Mater Dei with a 6:30 PM eastern kickoff time.
