The Lady Alices battled against extreme heat conditions as they took on the South Knox Lady Spartans. The Lady Alices would score first through a JJ Riggs volley from a corner, assisted by Brylee Quinett. South Knox would equalize the score in the first half off a mishit cross from an unfavorable angle that caught out the goalkeeper. Both teams had chances in the second half, but neither could break the deadlock. Our defense was often stranded and exposed to the counter-attack threat from South Knox. But they had a shutout 2nd half, complemented by 16 saves from freshman goalkeeper Ruby Smith. But they kept their heads and covered each other, leaving it all out on the field.
