Vincennes Lincoln High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Chelsea Meeks as the new head coach of the Lady Alice Girls Basketball program. Meeks succeeds Tim Young, who resigned in mid-May. A familiar face within the program, Meeks has served as the varsity assistant coach for the past five seasons and now takes over as the program's leader. Meeks brings a wealth of basketball experience as both a player and coach. During her collegiate career at William Jewell College from 2010–2014, she earned multiple All-Conference, All-Defensive, and Academic honors. Following graduation, she served as an assistant women’s basketball coach and graduate assistant at the University of Illinois Springfield during the 2014–2015 season before continuing her playing career professionally in Germany from 2015–2016. After her professional playing career, Meeks returned home and joined her family-owned businesses, Meeks Insurance and Meeks Real Estate, where she continues to work full-time. “I am honored and excited for the opportunity to lead the Lady Alice Basketball program,” said Meeks. “I look forward to building on the foundation that has been established and helping our student-athletes grow both on and off the court.” Meeks is eager to bring her leadership, passion for the game, and experience to the Lady Alice program as she begins this new role.
